# Summary The dealership receives mixed reviews, with customers praising individual staff members like service technician Brock and salesperson Bubba for their professionalism and helpfulness, while criticizing management for dismissive customer service and allegedly withholding vehicle defect information during sales. Multiple reviewers report poor transparency about vehicle conditions, inflexible pricing, and unresponsive communication, particularly from management.

Dealership: Stykemain Chevrolet – Paulding, OH Individuals involved: • Jesse Renollet – Sales Manager (claimed to be General Manager) • Brad Davis – Salesperson • Jim Stykemain – Owner Today we drove two and a half hours to Paulding, Ohio to look at a 2022 Ram 2500 diesel. I contacted the salesperson (Brad Davis) when the dealership opened and was upfront that we would want to negotiate in person. He was friendly, responsive, and professional throughout. When we arrived, the truck started and we were allowed to test drive it. Less than one mile into the drive, the truck lost power and began throwing warning messages. We were forced to pull over just off a busy highway in actual -10°F temperatures (not wind chill) with traffic flying by. The truck would not restart, and we were left sitting on the roadside with our hazards on in dangerous conditions. We attempted to contact the salesperson several times with no answer. We eventually reached the receptionist, who tried to transfer us to service, but no one answered. We explained that we were stranded, unsafe, and could literally see the dealership from where we were sitting. After some time, the salesperson and a service employee arrived and brought us back. The truck ultimately had to be towed back to the dealership. They suggested the diesel fuel may have gelled due to low fuel, which is plausible. Despite this, we were still willing to move forward with the purchase if the dealership was willing to work with us given the circumstances. That’s when the attitude from management became the real problem. I approached the sales manager, Jesse Renollet, respectfully to discuss whether there might be any flexibility on price given that we had just been stranded in dangerous conditions after driving five hours round trip. His response was cold and dismissive: “The price is the price.” No apology. No concern for safety. No acknowledgment of the situation. When I asked if the general manager was available, he said he was the general manager. I then asked about speaking with the owner. He asked, “Would you like to speak with him?” When I said yes, he turned as if he was going to call, then turned back with a sarcastic smirk and said, “Oh, I forgot, he’s on his way to Florida.” The interaction was condescending, dismissive, and unprofessional. To be clear, our salesperson was courteous and professional. This failure falls squarely on management. After everything that occurred, the dealership offered not a penny off the advertised price and even stated they would be raising the price the following week. Based on this experience, I strongly encourage others to read the reviews and take them seriously. This dealership does not value customer safety, customer service, or accountability. I will not return, and I will be sharing this experience publicly.

Bought this beauty there in Paulding. Place is great. Very great people... we have had all our vehicles serviced at some point or other with Brock. He's a great guy honest and straightforward with you. Definitely our go to if its something we can't fix ourselves

The sale was okay. Asked them to work with me if I financed instead of paying cash, they didn’t. Figured whatever, it’s a fair price. Drove the vehicle home on a Thursday. It sat in my garage all weekend while I worked (this was a van for moving my family to and fro. I drive something else while going to work). Monday my daughter had her pediatrician appt and on the way home the check engine light came on. Called the dealership and they said to bring it in (vehicle came with their standard 3k mile warranty). Brought it in the following Thursday (literally a week later) and was told it would be $500 to fix ( what was wrong with it wasn’t covered under warranty). I declined. The part is $100 and takes maybe an hr to swap. Then they tried to tell me that just the diagnostic was going to cost $189. They were kind enough to wave that charge but here’s the part that annoys me most. Newer cars keep logs of these error codes and the same code had been kicked out back in January. I’m not going to speculate but I am going to say somebody knew something and didn’t pass that info on. I’m not saying that this dealer knew, just that someone in the chain of custody did and kept the info to themselves.

After being in contact with a manager and a salesman about a vehicle, I drove an hour to look at it. I offered lower than the listing price, which they declined, and said the vehicle was in great condition. After arriving I began to inspect the vehicle only to find that the entire panoramic sunroof shade was missing! Neither the salesman or manager mentioned this to me, after I brought it up they said they knew about it and that they wouldn’t fix it as it cost 11,000 to fix, I asked how much they would take off of the vehicle and they said $400. No one was going to tell me about the shade, they would’ve gladly sold it to me without ever mentioning it. I’ve owned an edge with a panoramic sunroof, it can get extremely hot in the summer, the shade is huge! The manager(Jesse) texted me later that night to ask how things went, I voiced my concern and told her that I felt it was shady business, she never even responded.

Every one was friendly (for the most part). I had an issue with the car I purchased at pickup and they were quick to help. I did run into a lot of dropped calls or unreturned calls for my repair but once I got ahold of someone, it was golden. I would shop with them or use their garage without hesitation. If you need a new vehicle, ask for Bubba.
