Immoral business practices - Don't trust them!! April 20, 2024 the check engine light on my 2020 subaru forester came on. I went to autozone, had them read the code, and researched the issue. From what I learned, I figured it was the Thermo Control Valve, which is covered under my powertrain warranty. I called the Subaru Morgantown service department and made an appointment for April 24, 2024. I asked them to check out the check engine light and told them I thought it was the thermo control valve and it should be covered under my powertrain warranty. I also asked them to put an inspection sticker on my car. I leave my car there and go home. I get a call from them approximately 3 hours later quoting me over $3,000 for the work that needed to be done. I asked them what the issue was and they confirmed it was the thermo control valve. I reminded them this was covered under the warranty and they said “oh, I forgot, let me adjust that total for you.” They then came back quoting me over $400 to get new back brakes and rotors on my car. They said it was metal on metal, a safety hazard, and they were going to fail my car for the inspection if I did not allow them to do this work. I explained that I am able to replace my own brakes and rotors and instructed them to not do the work. I said if they thought it was necessary to fail my car for inspection, they could do what they see fit. Approximately another 2 hours later I get another call letting me know my car is ready and I can come pick it up. They notified me over the phone that they went ahead and put an inspection sticker on my car “to be nice.” When I arrived to pick up my car, the man at the service desk informed me that he “could tell [I] was mad over the phone so [he] told the mechanics to go ahead and put a sticker on it, but [I] really need to put brakes on my car.” I get home and a few days later go to replace my brakes and rotors, to find them in perfect working condition. I was not in need of brakes and this dealership was trying to scam me out of money. I am a woman who is knowledgeable about cars, but if I would have known less, they could have easily swindled me out of money. Be careful getting service done here, be aware and do not trust their word! I am highly disappointed!!

Went to get a standard oil change and to fix the trim piece that they cut too much of when installing the hitch. I later noticed that my dashcam was unplugged so I went back through the footage to see what happened and I saw a service member unplugging it. It was a couple weeks before I noticed thankfully nothing happened where I would have needed footage. I called them to understand why they are touching my personal belongings I was told a manager would call me back, never happened. They also never seem to fill the windshield washer fluid which is usually standard with oil changes. Very disappointed that I didn’t receive a call back. Also the trim piece for the hitch seems like their solution was to only glue it back on so I wonder how long that will last. Plus they only glued one side so it looks a bit uneven. I would explore other options before going here especially if you have a dashcam. Why unplug it, do you have something to hide!? Update: reached out to Michael via email like asked to do so. He never responded. Followed up 3 times. Concerns will not be addressed at this service location what a joke. I also got to looking under my hood and noticed my coolant wasn’t filled up either it’s on low. So I doubt they even do a full inspection at this location like they say they do.

Traveling from Florida the check engine light came on. Called the service department, they got me in right away. Had the car repaired, they gave me a loaner because it was not able to be fixed while we waited. The staff was awesome, friendly, kept me informed, made sure I understood everything. Everyone we met was great. I would highly recommend Morgantown Subaru for all your needs. Thank you!

Customer service is outstanding. Service personal take time to listen to your needs and explain carefully the results of the work they completed. The facility is clean, easy to make appointments. I have been a customer for many years and would certainly recommend the dealership and their service team to anyone.

I’ve been taking my car here for regular oil changes, tire rotations, and their 65-point inspection since 2023. I bought my vehicle used from this dealership two years ago and have always trusted them—until now. At my most recent visit, I noticed the service was taking much longer than usual, and suddenly every customer seemed to have “issues” with their vehicle. I was quoted over $4,000 for things like an air cabin filter, engine air filter, a lower radiator hose, and several major oil leaks. None of these issues were mentioned when I had my car serviced five months ago. It was always “everything looks good”. Jacob Sanders was the one who gave me this outrageous quote, and Ashton Savage was listed as the technician. As a younger woman, I can’t help but feel like they were trying to take advantage of what they assumed was a lack of knowledge. It felt like a scam. I’ve never had issues with them until now, but this experience completely destroyed my trust. I will not be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone—especially if you’re not familiar with car repairs.
