# Summary The dealership earns strong praise for its professional and customer-focused service department, with staff members consistently noted for their efficiency, transparency, and willingness to address vehicle concerns without pressure tactics. However, one customer reported dissatisfaction with how a service inspection finding (a mouse nest) was communicated and handled, citing a dismissive response when raising the issue.
My review is a little long and starts off-topic, but it all comes together, haha. I’ve had a 2023 WRX for about a year now, and when I bought it, I was originally supposed to buy a different WRX but was, in a sense, “robbed” of buying the car. I was given a discount on the 2023 I own now and have loved it. But a month after purchasing the vehicle, I noticed it had a weird creaking/cracking sound. I didn’t worry about it too much until I brought my car to a Subaru dealership (won’t say the name), but it has the same owner as the one in Penticton. When I brought my car in, I was told I didn’t need an appointment and the noise I was hearing was just “the sound these cars make; it’s normal.” I found this shocking and, at the time, strange, as I’ve seen multiple people on Facebook and online complain about this sound, and they were given new parts (new control arms). So, almost a year later, I noticed the sound came back. Just to be safe, I brought my car to Penticton Subaru to see what they would think. I was then told that I had to get my control arms replaced and that it was covered because I had my original 3-year warranty (ends this September). Sarah and Jeremy work in service and parts and were the easiest, most professional, and swift to talk to. They told me that they have heard of this issue before; they didn’t waste my time, got me in for an appointment, answered all my questions, and made my life so easy. I’m still shocked they were so easy to talk to after having a different experience at the other dealership. Jeremy was also able to recommend parts for my build, explain my service intervals, and book me an appointment to make my clutch shorter to my liking. In this same appointment, I showed them a video of my brakes, and Hector was quick to address the issue and fix my brakes for me. My appointment was short, swift, and quick. While waiting for the appointment, I had a brief conversation with Al, the sales manager, about my experience at the other dealership, and he apologized on their behalf. While I was waiting, him and Patrick let me test drive a higher model and year of the car I have. They understood I just wanted to feel the difference. The car was nice, and I wasn’t pushed or pressured into buying anything. I didn’t realize until today (the day this review is posted) that Al was a manager. The reason I say this is because he didn’t have a fancy private office, he didn’t wear a fancy suit, he didn’t look down on anyone; he had great professionalism and, in my eyes, was a crucial member of the team in Penticton. The entire team has made my anxiety and worrying over my car gone in 2 weeks. I will gladly drive an hour to this dealership instead of 20 minutes to another dealership that doesn’t treat you like a customer I still find it insane that these 2 dealerships have the same owners but are completely different. Thank you, Subaru Penticton team, for your professionalism and great customer service.
If there was anywhere I’d recommend anyone get a car, it’d be here! It was the best experience I’ve had at any dealership by far. Patrick and Matthew did a great job working with me, and the whole buying experience was very relaxed and transparent. They’re really here to help and work with you, a real honest dealer. Really happy with my first Subaru, the WRX has been a blast.
Had a major 20,000 km service done. Found out there was a mouse near under the hood. I had to read the report. Wasn't told about it. After spending over $500 on that service I looked under the hood on top of the motor there was the mouse nest still there. I cleaned it out myself. When I went in to question the sale person he just passed me onto the.service dept. The reaction from the service dept was like dismissing me. They said we have lots of mice in the Okanagan. Why wouldn't they clean it out and then verbally inform me? Especially after doing a service that included a lot of "inspections" of different components.
Very happy with my new purchase and process from beginning to end. Ian and Matthew were great If you're looking for a new vehicle ...go here! Not pushy, very informative, all round great guys to answer all your questions.
Just over a year since we bought our Forester Wilderness here. I found the sales and the service department very professional. I would recommend this dealership....plus I believe Subaru's are a great car for the value compared to other import models (we have owned Toyota's and a Hyundai).
