Their salesman John Watson is an awesome guy. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Most sales people are pushy and you can tell they are out for their own interests. Not John he cares about what you’re looking for and best suits your family. All this while taking into consideration of your budget. It was nice talking with someone genuine and honest at a car lot for a change. This doesn’t happen very often. Thank you John!!!

I had an extremely disappointing service experience at Sunset Chevrolet in Sarasota on January 17, 2026. I scheduled an oil change covered under my extended warranty, which I purchased from Cox Chevrolet in Bradenton when I bought my 2025 Tahoe. I was told the warranty could be used at any Chevrolet dealership. When I checked in, the service advisor Brian Miller presented me with an invoice. After I explained that I have an extended warranty that includes oil changes, his attitude immediately changed. He became dismissive and unhelpful, insisting he didn’t know anything about it and that I needed to personally provide the contract—something I was never told at purchase. I explained that Cox Chevrolet is a sister dealership and that the warranty could be verified through my VIN. He refused to look it up or call them and told me to handle it myself. When I contacted Cox Chevrolet, they apologized for his behavior and confirmed that my Fidelity by GM extended warranty should have been visible in the system using my VIN. This was easily the worst dealership service experience I’ve had. The lack of professionalism and willingness to help was shocking. For comparison, my experiences at Cox Chevrolet in Bradenton and Jenkins Chevrolet in Venice have both been excellent and professional. I only tried Sunset Chevrolet due to convenience that day, and I won’t be returning. I did speak with the dealership manager, who was polite and listened, but the behavior of the service advisor was unacceptable. Customers should not be treated this way.
