# Summary The dealership receives high praise for exceptional sales experiences and standout staff members who prioritize customer satisfaction and go above and beyond expectations. However, service department interactions have been inconsistent, with some customers reporting unprofessional behavior, communication errors, billing disputes, and poor accommodation regarding scheduling and rental arrangements.
Wow. Just wow! 🌟 I cannot express how absolutely incredible our experience was at Terry VW! My wife and I have bought 8 to 10 cars across multiple states over the past 20 years, so we’ve seen it all. Absolutely nothing compares to this! This is hands down the best dealership on the planet! From the very second we walked through the door until the moment we drove off the lot, Adam was phenomenal! He didn't just take care of us; he went completely above and beyond, was insanely responsive, and hooked us up with the most mind-blowing deal we could have ever asked for! I have never owned a VW before, but after this stellar experience, I am officially a customer for life! If you are looking for a new ride and want a completely stress-free, five-star experience, do yourself a huge favor and go see Adam at Terry VW. They are the absolute best
Earlier this year, I had a very stressful and frustrating experience with another dealership, but Terry Volkswagen Subaru of Lynchburg, VA, and especially their manager, Ricky, have been nothing short of exceptional in turning things around. Ricky was the first person to identify the engine issues with my car, and from that moment forward, he has gone above and beyond to assist me. His honesty, expertise, and genuine commitment to helping customers have been a tremendous relief during what has been a challenging time. Since the initial incident, I have taken my car to Ricky's shop twice, and each time, his support and service have been outstanding. He has consistently approached every issue with professionalism, transparency, and a willingness to go the extra mile. Ricky has not only resolved the problems but has also ensured I felt informed and valued as a customer throughout the process. Ricky is a shining example of what excellent customer service should be. His empathy, knowledge, and dedication to his customers are truly commendable. He has restored my faith in what a car dealership can achieve with the right leadership and values. If you are looking for a dealership with knowledgeable staff, reliable service, and a manager who genuinely cares about his customers, I highly recommend Terry Volkswagen Subaru of Lynchburg. Ricky and his team have earned my trust and gratitude through their exceptional service. Thank you, Ricky, for your unwavering support and for helping make a difficult situation so much more manageable. Your dedication to your customers is truly appreciated!
I purchased my vehicle 5 years ago. The purchase part of this vehicle was fine. Owning the vehicle has been amazing. I love my Atlas. The service part has been less than stellar. The first oil change I received after purchase took over 24 hrs. I asked them to make sure they weren’t leaving my vehicle outside overnight. I was told it was stored inside. Before heading over to the shop, I looked at my app and saw the car was outside and hadn’t been started or moved all night. I brought this up and the service manager got in my face and told me not to call him a liar. First, you shouldn’t be getting in anyone’s face but definitely not a female’s. The remaining service has been uneventful until yesterday. I called to make an appt for oil change and inspection. When I received the text about my car I saw in the video they were rotating my tires. I did not ask for that. And sure enough, they were charging me. So I sent a text to the service dept asking why they weren’t doing that. They responded to me as “sir”. I’m a female and the sole owner of this vehicle. So there should be no confusion on who they were texting. I corrected them, no acknowledgment of their error. Then they responded again and said “your wife requested the rotation”. Again, I am not my husband and I once again corrected them. No acknowledgment or apology. I went to pick up the vehicle and still was met with “I know you requested the tire rotation”. No I didn’t! A rotation was not even on my radar, I just needed an oil change and a state inspection! Also, I’m still waiting on an apology for assuming I was my husband after I corrected you twice! Very disappointing. I purchased this vehicle locally to make it easier for maintenance, but my next purchase will be at Southern Team in Roanoke. My husband purchased both of his Subarus there and it isn’t that inconvenient to have it serviced there and their service department is wonderful.
Adam went above and beyond to help me trade in a vehicle and get the car I wanted. He was patient and super kind even during the tornado like weather we sat thru. lol. Would recommend him to any and everyone. 10/10 Custer service
I would give zero stars if possible. My first issue was when purchasing the vehicle and the salesman assessed my appearance and used car I showed up on and implied I was not able to afford the vehicle I purchased although I have a steady income of 80,000+ and have for years. I should have walked away then and did not. Since I have run into several issues and my most recent was a check engine light that was on. The issue was common with the vehicle I have so I reached out to VW and asked for assistance with the cost. The dealership attempted giving me the run around several times until I reached out to VW myself. VW cooperate has been phenomenal and under stood the concerns and compensated me for my partial cost. Since they have attempted to charge me for a rental car that was told to me the day I picked it up would be FREE of charge. I’ve had to call several times and received snarky comments from the associate who answers phones. I then requested to call and pay over the phone due to having a small child and trying to get in and out as quick as possible (they previously agreed to do so over text) and then was told there was no one to speak to me they would send a link… if you have time to send a link you have time to call simple as that. Then to top it all off I was informed at closing the day prior that my car was finished. I was not given a warning or an estimated completion date and had family photos planned out of town the following day. Not to mention I live an hour away and am a healthcare worker who works 12 hour shifts. I offered to come pick it up at 9 am the following morning when they opened. I was told if I did that they would go ahead and charge the rental fee for the car I was on although they agreed to not charge a dime previously. So I had to abruptly leave family photos I paid for OUT OF TOWN and drive two hours to accommodate VW. Most employees are rude and not accommodating at all and will do anything they can to turn a simple solution and fix into a “do it or else this will happen”. I love my VW but do to the poor treatment from this dealership I will likely get rid of my vehicle and never own a VW again. If I have any recommendations it’s to run from this dealer and find another VW dealership. I can assure you I will never be a customer here again. I am not one to complain or write a poor review for any business and considering I am that should speak volumes for those looking at vehicles at this dealership.
