Village European

This shop is absolutely amazing! The service is professional, honest, and truly customer-focused. They genuinely care about helping customers save money. I have a 2012 Volkswagen Passat SE that would only shift up to 3rd gear — it wouldn’t go into 4th, 5th, or 6th. I took it to the dealer, and they told me I needed to replace the entire transmission for $10,000. I was shocked! I visited several other shops, changed the transmission fluid, and even had the transmission reset by computer, but nothing worked. I was extremely frustrated, and it was seriously affecting my daily life. Then I found this shop. Dai is an outstanding technician. He quickly diagnosed the real issue — it was just a faulty solenoid inside the transmission. Instead of replacing the whole transmission, he replaced a used solenoid at a very reasonable price, and the problem was completely fixed! I am incredibly grateful for his honesty and expertise. I highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for trustworthy and skilled service!

We were at the adjacent filling station with a flat tire and someone suggested we check with Village European, next door. We were from out of town, on a Friday afternoon, in a real bind, and Jacob came to our rescue. He said he didn’t have the tire we would need, checked a couple places but couldn’t get it until Monday. He said we could leave our car there for AAA to tow it, if we needed to. We were able to locate a tire at a shop 10 miles away, and Jacob then jacked up our car and put on the “donut” spare so we could drive to the tire shop. He didn’t wasn’t to charge us but we insisted. He was concerned and as accommodating as he could have possibly been. Jacob is a very decent guy and clearly dedicated to serving his customers! This was our lucky day.

Village European couldn’t diagnose a simple ac hose issue after hours of labor and $400 diagnostic (nothing actually diagnosed) so I paid for nothing. The owner also tried to overcharge me on a transmission issue and wanted to replace my whole transmission which I didn’t and it’s still working. I think a knowledgeable mechanic would not just try to replace all the parts but actually could diagnose the symptoms and fix it while some of them want to overcharge as I was overcharged in the situation and I want the customers to be aware; buyer beware.

I had some trouble with my car (2003 Mercedes C240) not starting this week, it wasn't the battery and I couldn't figure it out on my own so I had it towed to Village European. They were very helpful and updated me throughout the diagnosis process via text (explaining what was wrong, providing cost estimates, etc). They had parts ordered and the repair complete within 1.5 business days which was awesome - I would highly recommend Village European.
