# Summary The service department receives praise from satisfied customers who highlight attentive staff, smooth transactions, and stress-free experiences, though some patrons report significant issues with wait times, unclear pricing on advertised promotions, and inconsistent communication. While repeat customers and first-time buyers commend the friendly and transparent service, others have expressed frustration with extended service delays, poor customer acknowledgment during visits, and concerns about sales interactions.
Highly recommend- Our first vehicle purchase at Larry H. Miller VW Avondale was in 2020, and now we're back in 2026. The service is still amazing! It was great seeing familiar faces, especially James L. From the beginning, he listened to our needs and worked with us to find the right vehicle. The entire process was smooth, stress-free, and the negotiation was friendly and straightforward. Thank you, James, for another great car-buying experience. That's exactly why we came back and will continue to come back!
I had an amazing experience thanks to Rey, Andres, and Erubey! From start to finish, everything was quick, smooth, and stress-free. I was approved fast, and I never felt pressured into paying for anything extra. They were transparent, supportive, and truly cared about helping me. This was my FIRST and the BEST dealership experiences I could’ve ever had!
Visit on 5/27/2026… I returned to this dealership only because of a promotional email advertising a $49.95 synthetic oil change for VW vehicles. Unfortunately, the experience reinforced why I stopped coming here in the first place. I scheduled an appointment online, received confirmation, and arrived 45 minutes early. Upon arrival, I was informed that the advertised special did not apply to my Passat and that my oil change would cost $129 instead. While the advisor eventually applied a discount, it was frustrating to learn this only after arriving for my appointment. The bigger issue was the wait time. About 40 minutes after check-in, I was told service could take up to two hours because they were busy. After two hours, I was informed that my vehicle had not even been started and would be next in line. My car did not make it into the service bay until more than three hours after I arrived. In total, I spent nearly four hours at the dealership for a scheduled oil change. Communication throughout the process was poor. Expectations were not managed, updates were inconsistent, and there was little sense of urgency despite customers waiting. During the visit, I was also presented with nearly $1,800 in recommended repairs, yet there was NO explanation regarding the findings, urgency, or available options. What stood out most was the lack of customer service. Very few employees acknowledged customers, offered a smile, or made the waiting experience feel welcoming. The environment felt indifferent rather than customer-focused. I understand that dealerships get busy, but nearly four hours for a routine oil change with a scheduled appointment is unacceptable. Had realistic expectations been communicated from the beginning, I could have made other arrangements instead of losing most of my workday. I am currently considering trading my Passat for a new VW due to work requirements. However, based on this experience, I have no confidence in returning here for future service or a vehicle purchase. If a simple oil change requires almost four hours, I can only imagine how long a sales transaction would take. This dealership had an opportunity to regain a former customer's trust and failed to do so.
Update- They are now calling my job/cell and harassing me. This is not okay from a “professional”. He is threatening to get an attorney for “defamation” but it’s not defamation, it’s me sharing my experience I am sharing my personal experience with this dealership. Last year, when I visited with my parents, I had a positive experience, which is why I came back. However, my recent interaction was very different. After receiving approval through another dealership, I contacted this dealership to see whether they could work with me on a Volkswagen. During my interaction with Pete, I personally felt dismissed and did not feel that my concerns or situation were taken seriously. Based on the communication I received, I decided not to move forward with this dealership. I understand that not every dealership can make every deal happen, and this review is not about being denied. My review is based strictly on my personal experience with the customer service and communication I received. Others may have a different experience, but mine was disappointing enough that I chose to take my business elsewhere.
I had a great experience buying my car at Larry H. Miller Volkswagen. Stan E. was incredibly patient and extremely helpful in answering all my questions. I appreciate that he was very respectful and walked me through the entire process without any high sales pressure. Stan and team worked with me to get a fair price on both the new car and my trade-in. I got my dream car thanks to them. Highly recommend this dealership and ask for Stan!
