Volkswagen Lachute

Shady business practices. Not once, but twice sold a vehicle I agreed to buy from out of town. Someone came in and they sold it to someone locally. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, and they did the exact same thing on another vehicle a week later. Zero integrity. Told the manager this was poor business practice and he just said "yep". Probably a blessing because who knows what else they were hiding in the process. In case they deny it and reply to this message, see the attached last email I received from them.

We recently bought a vehicle here and were promised our first oil change would be covered as part of the negotiation. Now that the time has come, the dealership is hiding behind the fact that the previous staff didn't record it in the final paperwork. It is incredibly disappointing that VW Lachute refuses to take responsibility for the promises made by their own representatives. We were told the deal was "on the word" of the sales team, but apparently, that word is worthless once the employee leaves the building. A dealership should stand behind its deals regardless of staff turnover. If you buy here, do not trust a single word they say unless it is etched into the contract—otherwise, they will conveniently "forget" it. Truly a poor way to treat new customers.

Buyer BEWARE!: This dealership does not honor verbal agreements made during the sales process. We bought a car here under the impression that our first service was covered. Now, because the staff has turned over, the new management refuses to help us despite the promise made at the time of sale. If the staff changes, apparently their promises expire too. Unprofessional and untrustworthy. I’ll be taking my VW to a different shop that actually values its reputation. What a disgrace to VW!!!!

Came in August to look for a new Tiguan, lovely staff that took the time to show me everything. I came back to buy and dealt with terrible service. Apparently the entire staff left and now dealing with a bunch of inexperienced salespeople. VW is gonna have to step up the game. I know I’m going to be taking my business elsewhere!!

Generally friendly service. However, I did have a car with an error light that didn’t go away. They did a scan and they said it was because the fuel cap wasn’t that tight. Because sometimes it will go off if you took off the fuel cap and put it back on. I thought this was a problem with the fuel cap. They didn’t bother diagnosing the problem any further. Just charged me and lectured me on fuel cap tightening. Later I discovered after getting inspected for a different province. It was actually a problem with a broken air pressure pump. Conveniently outside of the warranty.
