# Summary The dealership receives praise from satisfied customers for knowledgeable staff members and positive sales and service interactions, while other customers report serious concerns including missed diagnostic findings, alleged service failures, dismissive management responses, and parts pricing markups significantly above manufacturer recommendations.

Best service experience I have ever had! Walking in to the service department I was greeted instantly by the service manager and advisor! The service advisor Trey and the manager John are very knowledgeable and make sure you are aware of everything happening with your vehicle! I left with every question answered and a smile on my face!! Thank you Volkswagen of Hartford!! I highly recommend servicing your VW at this location!

‼️‼️‼️WARNING‼️‼️‼️DONT SERVICE YOUR VEHICLE HERE‼️‼️‼️ On 9/9/25 I brought my 2019 Volkswagen Jetta in for a regular Oil Change as well as a test drive to try to figure out why my car was making a grinding/rubbing noise coming from the front driver side when going over bumps. After waiting for a little over a hour they said they couldn’t find anything wrong with my car and wanted to charge me a diagnostic fee plus tax which I declined. I paid for my oil change and continued my day. Later that day I took my car to Firestone for a diagnostic and they found why my car was making the grinding noises along with a major oil leak in my oil pan gasket (I have pictures) and some other issues which was not mentioned by Volkswagen. The Oil Change/safety inspection was never performed on my vehicle by Volkswagen like they claimed they did. When I left Firestone I went back to Volkswagen and asked to speak to the service manager to try to resolve this in a civil and professional manner but he refused. DON’T service your vehicle here!!!!!!! The service manager John Ramos is a COMPLETE JERK AND HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL/RUDE!!!!! HE DOESN’T CARE ABOUT HIS CUSTOMERS AT ALL!!!!!!! Safe to say I will NOT be coming back here which is to bad because I’ve had my car serviced here MANY times over the last 3 years

My wife and I had a great experience with Joe Maxwell at Mitchell Volkswagen. He really knows the vehicles inside and out and made sure all of our questions were answered. Joe was super friendly and easy to work with, and he went out of his way to help us find the best payment options for our budget. We left feeling really good about our purchase and we highly recommend Joe if you’re shopping for a VW!

Parts counter is marking up parts at 30% over VW MSRP. Better off going to the VW or even Audi dealer over the river if you are looking for VW parts.

My salesperson Ty absolutely made the experience for me. He was courteous and knowledgeable about every aspect of the vehicle, and at no point did I feel pressured to buy anything that my heart wasn't set on. He made sure that I was 100 percent satisfied with my experience, and made follow-ups conversations that left me feeling assured I was taken care of. I will recommend people to VW of Hartford and specifically to Ty anytime I get the opportunity or inclination. Thanks again.
