# Summary The dealership receives consistently high praise for knowledgeable and accommodating staff who prioritize customer education over aggressive sales tactics, with particular recognition for professional service advisors and salespeople who go above and beyond. However, some customers have reported significant concerns including questionable maintenance recommendations, scheduling delays, incomplete work quality, and poor communication—issues that have eroded trust and prompted at least one long-time customer to seek service elsewhere.
I took my vehicle in for a couple of routine services that were needed and the staff was exceptionally professional and helpful. I happened to also need new tires, but they did not use high pressure sales - they simply offered the available options for the best price, and helped educate me about the promotions available. They made me aware of a military rebate I would not have otherwise known about. I was impressed with how efficiently all three services were completed and the quality of work done. The facilities were clean and the staff was friendly. Altogether an enjoyable experience and I really appreciated it.
What a wonderful experience from start to finish at the Watertown Ford Chrysler. I worked with Joe at the dealership and had nothing short of an exceptional experience. Joe was knowledgeable about the vehicle I was looking at and was able to thoroughly answer all of my questions. Joe was patient and very accommodating with me and my husband. I honestly felt like Joe wanted me to have the right vehicle for me and not once did I feel pressured. I also want to acknowledge the finance department and note that the dealership seemed very busy that day and yet I felt that things went smooth and that my wait time was very reasonable. I’m very pleased with my experience and would definitely choose Watertown Ford Chrysler to do business with again in the future.
I moved to Watertown in 2025 and having been getting my 2022 Ranger serviced here since. Mostly just oil changes since it was still under warranty but recently there was a transmission issue recently that they also serviced (a significant overhaul was required). Here is a summary of the issues I have experienced with my service at Watertown Ford: 1. After my last oil change I was told by the service advisor that Ford wouldn't honor my extended warranty unless I did about $1800 of additional maintenance. These extra services are not on Ford's recommended service schedule and the air induction service they included as "required" is a downright bad idea because it can damage the turbochargers and catalytic converters in modern vehicles. 2. I crawled under the vehicle after the transmission service to inspect the work and check for any fluid leaks. While down there I discovered one of the factory skid plates was missing. The mechanic who did the work knew the plate was missing because it shared bolts with an adjacent plate. Those bolts were apparently lost too and replaced with whatever they could find at the hardware store (the OEM bolts are distinctive). The service manager did replace the skid plate and missing hardware at no charge but the fact that I had to discover this for myself indicates a lack of integrity. 3. Watertown Ford doesn't keep to any kind of schedule. I took time off work and scheduled an 8:15 a.m. appointment for the initial diagnostic work on this transmission issue (about a 1hr procedure) and they didn't even look at my vehicle that day. Previous work I've had done here has gone about the same. 4. There was evidence of transmission fluid under the vehicle after the transmission service. To keep it simple, there is a vent in the top of the transmission that allows air to escape when the fluid heats up. As it turns out, the transmission was overfilled after being overhauled and fluid was "burping" from this hole. I'm still monitoring this one but took about 2/3 of a quart of fluid out to get it down closer to the required level. I've been working on my own vehicles for about 25 years and take pride in keeping my vehicles running for a long time. They would have probably corrected the fluid level issue if I had gone back in but that would have taken more time and my trust level at this point is low. Since my warranty on this vehicle is about to expire anyway I'll be going back to doing my own maintenance. If I need dealer service in the future I'll try Einspahr Ford down in Brookings instead.
Watertown Ford has excellent sales and service staff. Big shout out to Tony in Sales and Emily in Service. They go above and beyond. Third used vehicle we purchased from them and we are very happy.
What an absolute embarrassment for a Ford Dealership. Breana contacted me out of the blue for a technician to come to my residence and address a trailer module recall. A 10 am Friday appt was made. I took Fri off to do this as I was out of town. No technician showed up at 10 nor 11 nor 12. I made 3 calls and got lied to each time. Finally Breana answers at 12:15. She had many excuses as to why no technician showed up yet. All would have been acceptable if ONLY they would COMMUNICATE . Just a simple phone or text msg would have been appreciated . I have tried to do previous business with them. This is the 3 rd and last time that I will give them any of my time.
