While service department experiences are generally positive, one customer noted that communication could be improved when issues arise during repairs.
I went to West Coast Toyota looking for a Tacoma. I wanted new and with a manual 6 speed transmission. I met up with Phil Stanyer a sales man. One of the nicest salesperson I have ever met. No pressure and went over my options for lease or finance. We worked out a deal and arranged for me to bring my car for trade. He did say it might be a low offer due to mileage and age. He set my expectations to avoid disappointment. The car was appraised and I was happy with the offer. I waited 3 months as expected. My truck came in and all my options installed. Delivered with a big red bow. I met up with Tia in financing and she explained everything. Was a nice experience great staff here I would highly recommend West Coast Toyota to anyone. I am absolutely loving my new Tacoma.
Update: Service Manager (Ammar Ahmed) replied me to explain the issue what happened and offered to replace those connectors without any charge. As West Coast Toyota had acknowledged the problem and resolved the issue, i am very much happy to continue my business with them. After that visit, I went to West Coast Toyota two times and received outstanding service from them. Complain: On January 9, 2026, I visited West Coast Toyota to replace the intake camshaft timing gear assembly on my 2013 Toyota Venza AWD (2.7LT). The repair was done well, and I'm satisfied with that work. To perform the job, technicians removed the ignition coils, breaking 2 out of 4 black clips (photos attached). They sealed the ignition coil clips with melted plastic but didn't inform me. I discovered this at home after pickup and left a voicemail for an explanation. Mehdi called back, saying the technician was off until Monday. On January 12, 2026, they'd follow up. Receiving no call by 10:30 AM (service opens at 8:30 AM), I went in person. Another advisor directed me to wait for Mehdi. Mehdi consulted the technician and explained the clips are fragile due to the car's age, and the seal is an improvement. I disagreed, noting many older cars have intact clips. I mentioned my plan to replace spark plugs at home, now impossible due to the seals, forcing me to use the dealership for this easy work. I requested a discount for their spark plug service; Mehdi refused. I pointed out the lack of notification or invoice note. He said he wasn't present at pickup, so he does not know anything. He suggested speaking to the service manager, but the manager was absent that day. There was no admission of fault, which I found unprofessional for a reputable Toyota dealership. Mistakes happen, but customers should be notified to avoid surprises and build trust. Otherwise, it raises concerns about other undisclosed issues. With no choice, I booked a spark plug replacement appointment without any discount. By the way, I'm happy to service there but disappointed by the careless handling—perhaps due to the car's age or for not purchasing the car from them. Service departments drive significant business, so customers deserve better. I anticipate a generic response asking for details; I'll email them. I will update my review according to the response I receive.
I have been a loyal customer of West Coast Toyota for the past 15–20 years, and during this time my family, my company, and I have purchased close to ten vehicles from this dealership — including my most recent Toyota Highlander. The level of professionalism and customer care here has always been exceptional. Gord Zilkowsky, the New Vehicle Sales Manager, and Kaleem Mohiuddin, Assistant Sales Manager, consistently go above and beyond to ensure every purchase is smooth, transparent, and pressure-free. Their knowledge, honesty, and genuine customer care are the main reasons we continue returning to this dealership. The entire team at West Coast Toyota has always treated us with respect and provided outstanding support throughout the years. We have always felt valued and well taken care of. I highly recommend West Coast Toyota to anyone looking for a reliable dealership with top-tier customer service. Thank you to Gord, Kaleem, and the whole team for many years of excellent experience and continued satisfaction.
Mark Fernandes is outstanding, hands down the best and exeptional car sales agent we ever dealt with. He is dedicated, patient, proative and conscientious. We will definitely look for Mark next time we are in need of vehicle again. Mark deserves 10 Stars!!! We drove away with our New Toyota bZ on Monday, May 25, 2026!!!
Had a great experience dealing with Mark Fernandes, low pressure, flexible with my schedule and went out of his way to help with specific wish-list items. I've had the new Tacoma for a week now and everything is great. Appreciate the genuine nature of his work. I would definitely recommend.
