There are car dealerships… and then there are dealerships willing to earn your business like it’s the final lap at Daytona. We just drove four hours to Westgate Chevrolet of Burgaw to pick up a 2021 Mazda3 Turbo Premium Plus AWD with the scarlet red interior, and somewhere between the endless highway miles, gas station coffee, and questioning our sanity for driving that far for a car… these guys absolutely delivered. Calvin was the first contact and immediately came across less like “car salesman” and more like “competent human being,” which in the dealership world already puts him in endangered species territory. He stayed responsive, straightforward, and helpful the entire process. Then there was John, the general manager, who was willing to actually negotiate like two adults discussing numbers instead of performing the traditional dealership ritual of disappearing into “the back” seventeen times to consult the sacred pricing scrolls. He texted directly, worked with us reasonably, and helped get everything lined up before we even arrived. And Joshua in service deserves serious credit too. Not only did he coordinate inspections and oil level checks, but he arranged for everything to be handled at another Westgate location closer to our home. That level of follow-through is rare. Most dealerships wave goodbye the second the paperwork dries. These guys acted like service after the sale still mattered. The entire experience felt organized, transparent, and low-stress… which honestly made me suspicious at first because I’m pretty sure that violates several dealership traditions. 😂 The Mazda itself? Gorgeous. Turbocharged. AWD. Scarlet red interior that looks like it belongs in something twice the price. The kind of car that makes you invent errands just so you can drive it again. Overall, this was one of the best dealership experiences we’ve had, especially considering we had zero prior relationship with them. If you’re willing to travel for the right vehicle and the right people, Westgate and Westgate Chevrolet of Burgaw is absolutely worth considering. (They can even transfer the car to one of their other dealerships for you if you have enough prior notice.) Four-hour drive. Zero regrets. Only one minor concern: I may now judge every future dealership against them unfairly.

This dealership was a blessing to me Wed. night I pulled in their lot as they were closing there doors and had 8 miles 2% charge left on my EV vehicle. I had pulled off I 40 and went to the charger shown on my apps. Unfortunately it was not working. I went to another location it did not work as well. I had pulled off with enough charge to make it to Wilmington but didn't want to risk it. Thinking I was wise to go ahead and charge up. This did not work out. I was on the verge of being stranded when thinking a dealership might sell EV vehicles would have a charger. The office manager was stepping out as I drove in. I told him of my situation. He did not hesitate to allow me to use the charger at the dealership to charge my vehicle to arrive safely into Wilmington. I do not know how much I can express my gratitude for the generousity and kindness that was shown to me in a time of true despair for me. Thanks I will always be grateful!!

This was the most pleasant car buying experience I had! John and Josh were amazing. From the moment I arrived, my new vehicle was all clean, paperwork ready to sign and we were back home in under 2.5 hours (we had an hour round trip drive). Highly recommend!
